JOSH D. SMITH (Piano/Conductor)

music directed and/or accompanied numerous productions throughout the US; including Arizona Broadway Theatre, ArtisTree and Northern Stage in Vermont; Prather Entertainment Group in Lancaster, PA; the Arundel Barn Playhouse in Maine; Jersey Shore Entertainment and Surflight Theatre in New Jersey; Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre; and Syracuse Stage in Upstate New York. Capital Regional audiences may recognize Josh from his work at the Mac-Haydn Theatre and Capital Repertory Theatre. He was named 2013 Central New York (SALT) Musical Director of the Year by the Syracuse New Times. Josh keeps himself busy throughout the year with live theatre and cabaret, including performances at 54 Below and The Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity and AFM Local 802.

Doug Esmond

DOUG ESMOND (Guitar)

is a Guitarist, Keyboardist, Organist, and Singer. In addition to playing many shows in the area he has held positions in various Churches, as a Worship Leader, Organist, and Music Director. In addition to this he also writes and arranges compositions in various genres and styles. His Published works include: Jazzical – “Jazzy renditions of Classical standards” and I-rish you a merry Christmas! “Celtic standards / Christmas music with a Celtic flair“. He currently serves as the Music Director/Organist at Newtonville Methodist Church and resides in Guilderland with his wife Meighan and two daughters, Evelyn and Isla.

Susan Gierthy

SUSAN GIERTHY (Oboe)

is an oboist, woodwind specialist, and music educator. She teaches for the Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO) CHIME program, as well as privately and at the Cady School of Music, where she serves as Assistant Director. Susan earned her Master of Music degree in Multiple Woodwinds from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia. She is the 2nd oboist for the Capital Region Wind Ensemble, a frequent doubler and pit musician for musical performances in the Capital Region, including Park Playhouse, and is a freelance performer.

Rick Hambright

RICK HAMBRIGHT (Tenor Saxophone/Clarinet)

a native of Newark, New Jersey, he is the retired Chair of the Music Department in East Greenbush School District, (New York). He has performed with the Albany Symphony, Schenectady Symphony, The Monmouth NJ Symphony. National Tours: “Avenue Q”, “Grease”, “The Full Monty”, “The Drowsey Chaperone”. In addition, Rick has workd with: Manhattan Transfer, Martha Reeves, the Sherills, Engelbert Humperdink, Jerry Vale, Kenny Rodgers, Olivia Newton-John, Aretha Franklin, the Four Tops, the Temptations. Pit Orchestras: Park Playhouse, Proctors, Mac-Haydn Theater, Cohoes Music Hall, Capital Repertory Theater, Papermill Playhouse among others.

Cathy Sheridan

CATHY SHERIDAN (Trumpet)

has performed worldwide in notable venues such as Lincoln Center, The Banff Centre, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and Minneapolis’ Target Field for MLB’s Minnesota Twins. She has been a soloist with the International Trumpet Guild and Catskill, Glens Falls, and Schenectady Symphonies. Cathy has appeared with over 45 national touring productions and has performed with artists to include Sarah Chang, Kristen Chenoweth, Aretha Franklin, The Irish Tenors, Johnny Mathis, and Elaine Stritch. Cathy earned a MS in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University and a MusB in Performance from Boston University. She is the President of AFM Local 85-133, and is a member of the ITG and Theatre Musicians Association. Cathy served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer Captain, is P.E. in NYS, and is currently the Manager of Engineering and Maintenance for the NYS Canal Corporation. www.cathysheridan.com.
